Our technical department has developed a level of steam resistant silicone rubber that withstands 160ºC, corresponding to a pressure of 6 bar.
This is the suitable material for pipe and profile extrusion and also for compression, transfer and injection molding. It is an excellent choice for industries that use high temperatures. Although most silicone rubbers give good resistance to boiling water, they degrade quickly when they are exposed to superheated steam over 160ºC; in contrast, this compound withstands those conditions for over 2 months.
